Seba: “The responsibility of winning is always great”
Málaga’s Uruguayan-born forward, Sebastián Fernández, spoke to the media this Friday in La Rosaleda’s press room.
Seba’s statements:
(Long week) “It’s been a long one, the following ones will be shorter. We’re really enthused about doing things properly. Not having playing with Uruguay? There are the country’s best players in the team, and I have to wait and try and seize the opportunity.”
(Maximum motivation) “We’re going to do what Manuel (Pellegrini) says, we’re all working hard in order to play. We have to go out to ‘destroy’ all teams. If you go out half sleep-walking, you’ll begin losing and here at home you must be very focused not to make mistakes. You always have to accept the responsibility of winning; it’s what all the great teams aspire to. It motivates us a lot to go out on to the pitch to win. I prefer to go on with the pressure of winning, it’s never ‘just another match’ and it’s great that the fans make you feel that you have to win.”
(Personal) “I was on the bench a lot last year, I’m OK, I’ve no problem with that, that’s football and I always work at the same level. It’s a privilege to be in teams such as this with great players, they demand a lot from you and you have to keep up with their level.”
(Granada) “We played a game last year, a friendly, and last season at the end I saw them play in various matches, and this first match I saw at the end of the second season. I think they’ll start off by looking after themselves a little bit and come out to counter-attack at speed, which is what they have up front. But this is all just speculation.”
