Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Roque Santa Cruz and Miguel Torres appeared in the mixed zone following today’s 3-1 defeat by Atlético de Madrid at the Vicente Calderón stadium.
Santa Cruz
“We were cautious during the first half and Atlético de Madrid opened the scoring from a set piece that we didn’t defend well. The first goal was the result of an accumulation of factors, but we could have played better. With regards to the 2-1 score, a fantastic pass from Castillejo assisted me to get a goal, which was great. We were playing well at this point, but Samu getting sent off made things really tough for us. We’re disappointed as we didn’t claim any points today. We’ll begin preparations tomorrow for next weekend’s match against Real Madrid, which will be a big motivation for us and is great for the fans.”
Miguel Torres
“It’s a shame as we worked hard to try and make history, but we were up against the current League champions. The referee didn’t influence the final result. The initial 1-0 score shaped the match and impeded us imposing our style of play.”
