Sandro, on the same track as the best goal-scorers

The start of the season for the highest Malaguista goal-scorer has been fantastic. Between the League and Cup, Sandro Ramírez has scored nine goals in 16 games with MCF.

The striker arrived from FC Barcelona last summer, and after 16 League matches plus the initial round of the Cup, he has accumulated statistics that place him amongst the best MCF strikers in history, during the Club’s time in the First Division, at this point in the season.

Sandro has scored seven goals in LaLiga Santander – three from free kicks – in 15 matches, and two goals in the Copa del Rey in one match.  In total, nine goals and an average of 0,56 per game.  In League competition, the Canaries-born forward is the second best ‘pichichi’ on a national level, tied with Rúben Castro from Betis, and behind Iago Aspas (10 goals).

Last season, the best Blue and Whites’ goal-scorer was Charles, who at this stage in the season had scored six goals, and totalled 12 in the League by the end of 2015/16. In 2010/11, Rondón had scored seven goals (five in LaLiga and two in the Cup), ending the season with 16 goals (14 in LaLiga).  Baha, in 2008/09, also scored seven goals after 16 League games, and by the end of that season had scored nine.  Numbers that place Sandro Ramírez, at this scoring rhythm, very high up amongst the top MCF scorers in the elite in one season, dominated since 1999/00 by Catanha as the indisputable leader with 25 goals (24 in the League).
