Rosales: “We lacked accuracy upfront”

Venezuelan-born Roberto Rosales, and ‘Malagueño’, Recio held a press conference in the mixed zone at the Vallecas stadium after today’s match.

For the ‘Vinotinto’ player, the match against Rayo Vallecano was “difficult against a team that piles the pressure on, focuses on the attack, whilst we lacked accuracy upfront.”

Rosales doesn’t think the team will relax during the League break: “The team has a great attitude, we always give our all on the pitch, and today we were up against a similar rival, the only difference being they scored and we didn’t.”

Recio: “We’ll try our best to finish as high up the table as possible”

Málaga-born Recio describes the rival as “a team that pressurises their opponents upfront and doesn’t permit them to impose their style of play.  We also tried to impede their gameplay, forcing them to launch more long balls than they’re used to.  This rival tends to create numerous goal opportunities, but they only had two chances today, whilst we generated chances but were unable to convert.”

Recio doesn’t believe the team will relax: “We are concentrating on looking to the future, but every match is more difficult than the last and any rival can cause trouble.  We’ve achieved great things so far this season, so we need to maintain this level of ambition as we’d like to reach 6th place in the table.”
