Rosales reaches 100 official matches

In Villarreal, Roberto Rosales played his 100th match with Málaga Club de Fútbol. The Blue and Whites’ winger reached the century in just two and a half seasons.

Consistency has been one of ‘Robertico’s’ stand-out qualities, an example of discipline, humility and sacrifice since his arrival at Málaga in the summer of 2014. During his first season, he took part in 40 official games (34 in LaLiga and six in the Cup), totalling 3,581 minutes. Last season he competed in 36 matches (35 in LaLiga and one Cup game), again surpassing the 3,000-minute mark (3,161).

So far this season, Rosales is the only player who has taken part in every official match, playing all 24 complete games with MCF (22 in LaLiga and two Cup games), counting today’s #VillarrealMálaga. He made his scoring debut this 2016/17 season, with an impressive goal in Vitoria against Alavés. In addition, he’s given 10 goal assists – one today – during his two and a half years as a Malaguista, thanks to his good work on the attack.

A pillar in the team’s best defensive display in history in the First Division, last season, 2015/16 - with 35 goals conceded – Rosales has continued his long-standing career with Venezuela, after taking part in the Copa America in Chile (2015) and the Copa América Centenario USA (2016) with the ‘Vinotinto’ team.
