Rondón: “The Levante game is going to be a turning point”
Málaga CF’s Venezuelan forward, Salomón Rondón, spoke to the media today, Wednesday, in the Ciudad de Málaga press room.
Rondón’s statements
Baptista’s injury “He was really excited about returning. Sadly football can be like this, but we have sufficient players to cover him, even though he’s a fundamental part of the squad. The important thing is to do things properly and he’ll rejoin us when he can. I spoke to him and I felt he was a little depressed; he was down but we cheered him up and I hope that he recovers very soon.”
Rondón-Seba “We’re working day by day to do things properly and we’re both going all out to get goals. Julio and Ruud began playing, then it was our turn and we’ve had a few good matches recently. I’m self-critical, I knew that my first season was ‘so-so’, but I’ve been doing alright for a while now. I’m at ease and helping the team, which is the important thing. A forward goes through patches, at the beginning of the season I had a bad one, now I’ve got four goals in seven matches and I’ve got to carry on doing things well.”
Levante “The Levante game is going to be a turning point for us if we’re to get into Champions. We know our objective is Europe, now we’re winning away, and it’s time to think about Levante. For me it’s a last push for Champions, we’re on form and they’ll be three important points. Football is a box of surprises, many people didn’t rate Levante but they’re in Champions. The important thing is to think about ourselves and do things how we have been doing them. Last time they won and we were one player down and that’s how we lost the match. But all games are different, now we have the opportunity to do well at home, correct the mistakes from that day, and get the three points. Strong Ballesteros? Yes, also ‘Cata’, Demichelis… Ballesteros is a very strong central defender.”
Fans “The people will be with us, which is what we hope for. We’re in reaching distance of our objective of being in Europe and when the people are supporting us we do better, as we saw in the Zaragoza game.”
Future “I’m waiting to see what happens, I’ve nothing to say because there’s nothing new. I will wait for the summer.”
