Rondón: “In one year we’ve gone from fighting to avoid relegation to fighting to be in Europe”
Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Venezuelan international forward, José Salomón Rondón, assesses 2011 and expresses both personal and collective aims for the forthcoming year.
José Salomón Rondón’s statements
“The personal assessment is a negative one because of the quantity of goals this season, which is nothing like that of last year; I’ve just got to keep on working hard so that things work out as they did last season. However, the assessment of the team is very positive: last year at this stage we were fighting as we were in the last three places in the league, battling to avoid relegation, and now we’re fighting to be in Europe.”
“The aim for next year is that the fans and us have many more satisfying moments. We could have a great year - we’re starting off very well and could reach our objective. The objective in 2012 is to be in Europe, to have a great year, and personally I want to get more goals and get out of this bad stretch.”
“I hope everyone’s had a happy Christmas and I wish all the people of Málaga a happy New Year and hope they really enjoy 2012.”
