Roberto: “We gave our all”

The Malaguista striker scored the definitive 2-2 in his second official match with Málaga CF. “We knew we could turn things around and rescue a point”, said the player from Puente Genil.

It was a very special day for Roberto Fernández in Ibiza. “Your first goal in the Second Division with the first team is always an immense joy. We knew we had to make a comeback and give the team a boost from the bench. The coach told me I’d get on the pitch and I did”, he said during a tough week but with a happy ending: “I ended the last match with a bad ankle, but I tried my best to get in the squad list and help the team. And it all worked out well”.

“We had to give our all. We knew we could turn things around, with their second goal it was more tricky, but we rescued a point. Now it’s all about our next game at La Rosaleda,” added the striker from the MCF Academy. “The Málaga youth ranks are one of the best in Spain”, said the scorer of the 2-2, from a pass by another homegrown player, Haitam Abaida.

“We’ll do our best to win the three points at home for our fans”, said Roberto about the upcoming game against Alcorcón at La Rosaleda.
