Return to training with a focus on the Copa del Rey

The Malaguistas returned to training this Sunday morning at La Rosaleda’s Annexe to prepare for the first Copa del Rey match against UD Almería.

The work doesn’t stop for Málaga CF, and following yesterday’s 1-0 win against CD Tenerife, the Blue and Whites returned to training at La Rosaleda’s Annexe to prepare for the Copa del Rey debut on Tuesday 11th September at 18:45 against UD Almería.

The Malaguistas kicked off the session with the usual warm-up and physical circuit, with the majority of the squad taking part. The players from yesterday’s League game exercised in the gym whilst the rest focused on ball work on the pitch at the Annexe.

For his part, Renato Santos is suffering from discomfort to the quadriceps in his right leg, whilst Ontiveros underwent the warm-up, recovering from the pretibial hematoma in his left leg. Mula trained outside the group due to a contusion to the left knee. In addition, Malaguista internationals Munir, N’Diaye and Haksabanovic, plus reserve team regular fixtures with the first team, Abqar and Keidi Bare, remain concentrated with their national teams.

The team will return to training tomorrow to continue preparations for the Cup game. Coach Juan Ramón Muñiz will then hold a press conference.
