Atlético Malagueño

Reserve team hopes to return to winning ways against CD El Ejido 2012

Atlético Malagueño is up against El Ejido 2012 on Sunday at 11:30 a.m., hoping for victory following last weekend’s provincial derby defeat against Alhaurín de la Torre (3-1) which saw them fall from second to fourth place in the table.

Salva Ballesta can count on all players for this match, with the exception of goalkeeper, Aarón who received a one-match ban following his expulsion last Sunday.  Deco and Rufo re-join the line-up having recovered from injury.  The Competition Committee overturned the yellow card awarded by the referee to Pablo in error, therefore he has only accumulated 4 yellow cards and will not be suspended from this game, and available to the ‘Malaguista’ coach tomorrow.

CD El Ejido 2012 defeated Atlético Melilla by 2-1 last weekend.  The Almería-based team took the lead thanks to an own goal, and following an Atlético Melilla equaliser, went on to win with a goal from Daniel Cara in minute 75.  The El Eljido coach, José Lirola cannot include Pía or Darío Guti in tomorrow’s line-up, who are both suspended due to expulsion and accumulation of cards respectively.  The three most recent signings are match-fit: Míchel, Víctor Ordiales and Álvaro Aranda.

At. Malagueño line-up: Godino, Cousillas (goalkeepers), Roy, Diego, Álex Portillo, Alberto López (defenders), Pablo, Paul, Mula, Deco, Ernesto Cornejo, Ernesto Gómez (midfielders), Falu Aranda, Rufo, Mauri and Zalea (strikers)
