Málaga CF Femenino staged a second-half comeback against league leaders Elche CFF on matchday 11 of the Segunda Federación. Yessenia and Andrea Herrero scored the goals for the Blue and Whites.

Málaga CF Femenino hosted Elche CF Femenino on Sunday 17th November, at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF for their matchday 11 clash in Group 2 of the Segunda Federación.

Coach Héctor Díaz fielded the following starting line-up: María Arrabal, Félicité, Kruijthof, María Farfán, Encarni, Bertuchi, Noe, Arantxa, Silvia Mérida, Alicia, and Yessenia.

The match began with dominance from the Elche side, which quickly reflected on the scoreboard with an early goal by Jiménez in the 10th minute. Despite the initial setback, the Málaga players regrouped with determination, led defensively by Kruijthof and Silvia Mérida, successfully halting the visitors' advances. In the 23rd minute, the hosts had their first major chance: Alicia delivered a perfectly timed pass to Bertuchi, whose shot narrowly grazed the crossbar. The tightly contested 0-1 scoreline remained as the teams went into half-time.

The Blue and Whites came out for the second half with a renewed attitude and were rewarded almost immediately. Just two minutes in, Yessenia scored the equaliser in the 47th minute with a shot from outside the box. However, Elche didn’t fall behind and came close to regaining the lead with a shot from Elisa that went just over the crossbar.

The decisive moment came in the 64th minute when Alicia delivered a crucial cross that Andrea Herrero headed into the net, sparking joy in the stands of the Ciudad Deportiva. With the scoreline in their favour (2-1), the Malaguistas managed the visitors' attempts to respond effectively.

In the final stages, Futu had a chance in minute 84, but her shot was easily saved. Málaga, solid in defence, held on to the lead and secured the three points.
