Real Madrid CF - Málaga CF preview

Málaga will take on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium for the first match of the second leg of the Copa del Rey, or ‘Kings’ Cup’. The opponent is the most successful club of the 20th Century, and reigning Copa champion.

The Malaguistas beat Getafe in the previous leg in a close match that ended 3-2, thanks to an amazing goal by Buonanotte, whilst the ´Madrileños’ scored easily against the modest Poferradina with a great performance by the Motril-born Callejón.
 
Málaga Club de Fútbol has never played Real Madrid in the Copa.  In the League, as a ‘CF’, the Blue and Whites are yet to win against them, and has only managed one draw in 10 matches played at Chamartín.  The last time they played against each other was this season, at La Rosaleda, in a match which Real Madrid won 0-4, with three goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.
 
For the Club, this match is a great opportunity to make history by eliminating the reigning Copa champion and the current BBVA League leaders, who are ahead of FC Barcelona, with 18 out of 18 possible points in the 11/12 Champions League.
