RCD Mallorca-Málaga CF match preview

Tomorrow Málaga Club de Fútbol will take on Real Club Deportivo Mallorca in the fourth match of the BBVA league. It’s the Blues and Whites’ second away game of the season and they will try and repeat Monday’s victory when they played against Granada.

Málaga, currently eighth on the table, will visit the Iberostar stadium (Saturday, 6 p.m) to play against a team that also has three points, and that is currently in tenth position in the league.  The best news of the week is that Brazilian striker, Julio Baptista, will be available to play following his recovering from his injuries which forced him to remain out of the Andalusian derbies against Sevilla and Granada.  The quality and the quantity of players in the attack positions creates a ‘blessed problem’ for Pellegrini, who has at his disposal motivated team that aspires to be in Europe.

Meanwhile, the charismatic Michael Laudrup will only be thinking about getting his team to focus on the football instead of the other issues currently surrounding the Balearic Club.  In attack position, the Danish-born Manager will be able to count on the skills of Nsue, ‘Chori’ Castro, Pereira, Aki, Tejera and the two reserves Alfaro and Hemed.  The other new signing, the Antequera-born goalie Calatayud, will remain on the subs bench as Aouate will undoubtedly play.

The visit to the Balearics is marked by a long history between the ‘Mallorquinos’ and the Blues and Whites.  In 10 league games, Málaga CF has logged three wins and three draws, and has lost four times.  The best outcome for Málaga was the 1-4 win in the 2005/6 season when Duda was worth his weight in gold.  The worst defeat was  2-0 last season.
