Ramón: “This is something historic for the club and the fans”

The homegrown midfielder appeared in La Rosaleda’s press room after the match against UD Las Palmas. “We’ve shown that the most important strength this team has is unity,” he said.

Historic

“It’s a shame we’re playing the final so soon, because people aren’t fully aware of what has been achieved. This is something historic for the club and the fans, and we should keep enjoying it because it’s very difficult for something like this to happen again.”

Personal journey

“It’s been a journey with many ups and downs. I’ve had difficult moments, injuries, and relegation, and I’m enjoying this like a little kid.”

Youth

“Although we’re a young team, many players have been competing at a very high level for years. That’s part of football, but we’ve shown that the most important strength this team has is unity. And that, together with the fans, helps us play with what we might lack in experience.”

Almost scored the 2-1

“Yes, I wish I had scored the goal, but I’m happy with the attitude of the whole team sticking together. If it wasn’t today, hopefully it will be another day.”

Personal

“The injury was a long one, and until I actually play, test myself, and see where my body can get to, you never really know. Some days the knee responds one way, other days another, but the important thing is that I feel close to my best version and I’m ready for whatever the coach needs from me.”

Club and fans

“We have a great opportunity for the club to get back where it belongs.”

“They’ve been supporting us all these years, and as far as I can remember, it’s the day I’ve seen the most people in the stadium. The fans feel a huge connection, I can’t even find the right word for it; it’s something you can only take your hat off to.”
