Ramalho: “We apologise, the fans don’t deserve to see this”

The Blue and White defender had a few words for the media in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda: “We’ll continue working to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” he affirmed.

Jonás Ramahlo started out by offering a sincere apology: “I apologise to everyone on behalf of the squad and the coaching team. We weren’t able to score a goal and they watched the team suffer. The fans don’t deserve to see the team like this. For my part and that of the whole team, I apologise. We’ll continue working to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” he stated.

“The team’s goal now is to reset. Although it’ll be hard, we need to come to work tomorrow with our batteries fully charged and try to give our all in the next game to earn the three points,” he explained.

In a deeper analysis of the defeat, Ramalho commented that “nothing we’ve been working on during the week was seen on the pitch. We weren’t good on the attack or in defence, those of us on the pitch and off it could see the team wasn’t comfortable. This doesn’t mean we haven’t worked all week for this game, but nothing went right. It was a disaster, and a match at home like this cannot be allowed. The coach said it’s entirely his fault, but that’s not the case. It’s down to everyone, we are the ones playing. We must rectify the mistakes we made today, analyse what we did badly and work another way, with another scheme. It's about improving and not conveying this image again,” he concluded.
