Ramalho: “This was the match we all needed”

The Blue and White central defender spoke to the media following #MálagaRealZaragoza: “Today is a turning point, it helps to see that the team can play well,” he stated.

Jonas Ramalho was one of the stars of the night. Although he didn’t score a goal, his defensive action in minute 44 kept the scoreboard at 0-0 during a decisive minute for the future of play: “It’s a happy day for everyone: the group, coaching staff, team and fans. We needed a game like this, we enjoyed it, scoring goals and keeping a clean sheet. A perfect match that we all needed, we’re all happy,” he explained.

The team scored three points that could prove to be crucial, in what was a very complete game. The defender said of the match: “Today is a turning point, it helps to see that the team can play well. If we all do our bit, we can get the three points. Hopefully this will serve to give morale a boost, score more points so we can secure our place in the division as soon as possible.”

A clean sheet is always a guarantee of scoring points: “If the defenders keep a clean sheet, we’ll have chances and we’ll add points. Our job is to keep a clean sheet. I always have faith and in a specific action of mine, I saved an opportunity that could have changed the game. Then we took the lead, and everything became a bit calmer,” Ramalho stated.

Rubén Castro has scored 285 goals between the First and Second Divisions. This figure makes him the top Spanish scorer in both categories: “We all know that Rubén is a great scorer, he always has been. It was special, it helped him to see that he is a killer and is a real morale boost for him. We’re thrilled for him, hopefully he’ll give us more goals and more victories,” he concluded.
