The provincial derby kicks off on Sunday at the ‘Federación Malagueña’ ground between the third-placed ‘Malaguistas’ and second-placed Vélez CF.
Atlético Malagueño is hoping to return to winning ways tomorrow following last weekend’s defeat by Los Villares CF at their tough ground, following five consecutive victories. The Blue and Whites are in third place in the group with 27 points despite this recent defeat. Salva Ballesta cannot count on Cristian for this match, as he’s suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Deco, who has been suffering with a left groin strain throughout the week, will be in doubt until the last minute.
Vélez CF is one of the most solid teams in the category. So far this season, former Blue and Whites’ coach, José Carlos Tello’s side, has only been defeated once. Last weekend Vélez claimed three points from their 2-0 victory over Atlético Melilla, thanks to two goals from Marbella-born Loren.
Tickets for this match are priced at one euro for Málaga CF season ticket holders, and five euros for the general public.
