Prebenjamín, Gañafote Cup champions

The youngest team in the MCF Academy won the tournament in Huelva after beating Club Atlético de Madrid in the final by 3-0.

The youngest team from the MCF Academy, the Prebenjamín 2011, was proclaimed champion of the Gañafote Cup on Monday. Other youth teams participating in the tournament included Real Betis, Real Valladolid, Sevilla CF and Atlético de Madrid, the latter who our team defeated in the final by 3-0.

Málaga CF was paired alongside CD Pinzón and CD Miralbaida in the group stage, defeating them by 0-15 and 9-2 respectively. After securing first place, the Blue and Whites qualified to the gold stage, sharing a group with Villafranco FC, AD Nervión and Córdoba CF. Against the first team, the Malaguistas won by 0-12; by 5-0 against the second team; whilst they drew 1-1 with the Green and Whites. Málaga CF and Córdoba CF shared the points, but the Blue and Whites were superior in goal difference meaning they qualified in first place to the grand final.

The rival in the final was Club Atlético de Madrid, who arrived at this last match without losing a single game and only conceding two goals. However, the Blue and Whites dominated play and Málaga CF defeated the ‘Colchoneros’ by 3-0.
