“There were many different facets to this game. We started off better, but they went on to recompose themselves. There were many phases, but goals are the key. After the goal we had 15 minutes where they caught us out in transitions and Munir kept us in the game, then in the final stretch we improved. We could have scored a second goal, but in the end it’s a fair result. We came back fighting when we were 1-0 down. I’m very happy with the work of the players”.

“We scored the goal from a set piece. Together with the transitions, they are the most critical moments in football. No matter how much you train or watch on video, there are situations where we know there are good finishers, zonal or one-to-one marking, but not everything is mathematical in football. We need to improve, but we also had opportunities from the set piece”.

“There were times after going 1-0 down when Munir kept us alive in the match. In the end it’s like a boxing match, and the KO is the goal. It costs us a lot to score points. Las Palmas played a good game, as did we”.
Value the point
“We have to appreciate that it costs a lot to win. We’ve come from a run of three victories, but we must give value to the point and remember where we came from. We could have taken all three points, but the draw is fair. We saw the team the same as we’ve been seeing recently, solid, and the players should be congratulated as we’re a point closer to our objective”.
