Pellicer: “We are even more excited and full of enthusiasm”

The Blue and White coach spoke to the media at a press conference after the victory against Cartagena. “The welcome was incredible. We hope to continue living it, the fans push and we push,” he said.

The manager remains faithful to his “believe” speech. “The fans believe, the team believes and we’re creating something. This has to be the way to suffer. It’s very difficult, but we are creating something that we have to give continuity to,” he started out by saying. “We have to look at ourselves. Out of the last four matches we’ve won three. It’s the first time we’ve won two games in a row,” he continued.

Of course, “we’re now thinking about the next game. These matches are decided with the smallest details. This victory in front of our fans and the reception we received makes us continue to believe. I want to congratulate my players on the situation, it was a very difficult game, and they made a great effort,” Pellicer stated.

In regard to the fans’ reception, he said: “The welcome was incredible. We hope to continue living it as we’ll have possibilities. We need to enjoy it as this can happen once in a lifetime. The fans help us, they push and we push. We have to focus on the Lugo game. The situation is still extremely difficult, but we’ll continue to look at ourselves.”

“If we had lost, it would have been apocalyptic. By winning we are the same, but with more excitement and full of enthusiasm to seek the third victory in a row,” he continued. “We are doing things to deserve, at least, to continue fighting. I congratulate the players, today was a game for brave players with personality,” he added. “Things seemed better today, but we are the same and are still in a complicated situation. We’re going to hold on to those positives, knowing that the road ahead is going to be tough and hopefully long,” he continued.

Every match is life or death. “We are in the all or nothing bubble. We are driving through hell. Tomorrow we’re going to rest, the minds of the players are important,” explained Pellicer who praised goal scorer, Chavarría: “I saw the dynamic of the play and the enthusiasm. Long may it continue. He reminds me of Pablo Chavarría from his first stage.” In regard to Ramón. “Ramón today was brutal, there are no words. That’s the way forward. He can give a great deal, he must have continuity.”

About the fans, “there are no words anymore,” the coach stated. “Very few teams with this situation can fill the stadium. And that is what drives us on, that push. Today the welcome was incredible. They believe and that makes the group believe that we can continue fighting,” he added.

Finally, Pellicer insisted on his message: “This is the first time I’ve experienced what happened today. To be great, a team has to learn to be small. The strength is based on humility. It signifies ambition. The way forward is to continue fighting with soul. We’ll keep fighting, which is good for everyone. We must make the maximum effort based on humility.”
