Juande: “It’s a question of faith, we’re going to fight together until the end”

The Malaguista spoke to the media after the win against Cartagena at La Rosaleda: “It was a shot of energy, the second victory on the bounce is a reward for all the hard work,” he said.

Málaga CF secured a crucial victory today. The Blue and Whites have claimed six points in a row to give them a boost in the standings. The atmosphere experienced at La Rosaleda was typical of the great occasions: “This is a major win after the welcome we received. The union between the team and the fans is evident and it shows on the pitch. We all believe, we have a good dynamic and together we are going to fight until the end to stay up,” he explained.

The result gives the team wings to continue believing: “It was a shot of energy, we haven’t achieved two wins on the bounce all season. Everyone was supporting us, and we wanted to get this victory at home following the away win.  It’s a reward for all the hard work,” he affirmed.

In the last breath, a possible penalty against MCF led the fans to hold their breath. Finally, the referee disallowed the penalty due to a Cartagena player being offside: “There was an immense amount of confusion and tension. We had been running and fighting throughout the match and in a last-minute action we could have lost the victory. It’s a question of faith, we all believed, and it was like celebrating a goal,” he said.

Regarding his personal feelings, Juande was clear: “I felt good, I’m happy and having more consistency. I try to make the coach trust as much as possible and give the best performance I can,” he continued.

Regarding the formation of the team, the player commented: “The system is working very well for the team, we’re feeling comfortable. The objectives and the way of playing are the same. It’s bringing results and we’re going to go for the game with whatever formation it is,” he concluded.
