Pellicer: We’ll try to extend this positive streak
The Málaga CF coach held a press conference following the victory against San Fernando: “I remain with the lads' effort, they were daring and knew how to suffer,” he highlighted.
Congratulations to the team
“First I have to congratulate the lads' hard work. We knew how to suffer, we know what we have, a vision and a mission. We’ll try to extend this positive streak and improve on many things. We could have had more control, we have to watch the small details. The team had many situations to score the second goal, but mistakes gave chances to the rival. I want to congratulate my players from the bottom of my heart.”
Aspects to improve
“It's a question of effectiveness. Without the ball we didn’t want them to hurt us, and in the final minutes they did have chances. We executed well, but the ball didn’t go in. There were many situations, but it’s all about efficiency. We didn’t do what we wanted in the last 30 minutes, and there is room for improvement, based on humility.”
Positive energy
“The team is competing very well and putting in a great deal of effort. This provides the mechanisms to continue moving forward. This positive energy from the fifth victory helps us to continue improving. Castellón and Ibiza enjoyed bigger wins, but the rest of us are going to suffer.”
Closing games defensively
“We have a profile of strong attacking players and the depth that the full backs are giving us. We are very exposed, I worried about the first play of the second half that we weren’t focused. We have to continue moving on and analyse what we’re doing. A clean sheet gives you a lot of security as Alfonso Herrero conveys safety to his teammates.”
