Pellicer: “Everyone wants to compete and everyone wants to be there”

The Málaga CF coach spoke to the media at La Rosaleda ahead of Málaga-Burgos, which will close out the 2024/25 season. “We have to play with the excitement of a debutant and the experience of an adult,” he stated.

Burgos CF

“Focused on the rival, who has improved significantly, especially with the arrival of Ramis, who has given the team his signature style. It's very similar to Ramis' Tenerife, which nearly got promoted to the First Division. They're a team on the rise. It's important to win, finishing in one position or another does make a difference. We want to win to keep the fans engaged, especially at La Rosaleda, because victories bring a lot of motivation. They also bring prestige to the club, that competitive edge, especially in the final stretch of the season at home, and to put the finishing touch on it with a win.”

Collective

“Since Wednesday, we've been focused, and there are players with knocks who still want to be part of it. That gives me a lot of joy and motivation, everyone wants to compete, everyone wants to be involved. The end of the season is always very tough. I see the players fully focused, it's the last week, and I'm very happy because I can tell they want to be there. That brings me a great deal of joy.”

Carlos López

“Carlos is going to play, yes. And if there are changes, they’ll be made with the goal of doing what’s best. I see it in the players, those who take to the pitch will give their best. There’s been a process throughout the whole season. It’s complicated, there’s a cake, and I have to divide it among 28 players, and it’s impossible for everyone to get the same slice. Carlos deserves it, and I believe we’re going to win with him, or with others, who will also want to give their all. And to offer a victory to our fans.”

Grateful

“Team talk tomorrow? Just to thank everyone. And to play the match with the excitement of a debutant and the experience and strength of an adult. To play as if it were the first day, and as if it were the last. Thank you to everyone. There’s a core group that represents past seasons, and they all hold a special place in our hearts, especially because of last year’s promotion.”
