Stability and support
“We haven’t been able to show the consistency needed to maintain stable performances and results, especially away from our stadium. The most important thing, here at La Rosaleda and with our fans, is that the players feel the support. The players are our greatest asset, we have many homegrown players who feel the club as their own. It’s a demanding club, and it has to be that way. But we’re going to protect them, because they are our heritage and will be with us until the end of the season. Standing behind the players gives us an extra boost of energy in our stadium.”
Focused on Andorra
“We have to focus on Andorra. On Sunday, we’ll be facing a team that’s the sensation of the division, fun, dynamic, and in a very different context from the Deportivo match. We’re still far from where we want to be, but there’s a long way to go. We need to build a more competitive team away from home and create a very positive atmosphere for our players.”
Message of calm
“The team has soul, but we haven’t been very consistent. It’s normal for a bit of uncertainty to arise. The most important thing is to maintain our performance against Dépor and to send a message of calm, because I believe that with composure and by staying united as a tribe, we’ll be closer to achieving important things.”
Solutions and performance
“As coaches, we have to look for solutions and get the best out of our players. In the end, when those small details happen, again, away from our stadium, those are things I need to keep working on and provide the mechanisms to handle those situations.”
Sunday matchday
“I’m expecting a match full of goals, back and forth, against an opponent that reminds me of us last year. They come from the Primera RFEF with a lot of young, hungry players, a coach with a style very similar to Sarabia and his Elche, and I identify with that idea.”
Characteristics of the rival
“The opponent knows about our needs, which cannot turn into haste. I expect two teams that will try to play. We want that battle for the ball, and they, when they have it, will try to exploit the fatigue and our urgency, while we want it to progress and be vertical. We need to stay compact so that when we have the ball, they suffer. We aim to be a brave team that presses high and has confidence in ourselves.”
