The Málaga CF coach attended to the media at La Rosaleda this afternoon. “Today I had to stop the session, the players are pumped up and raring to go”, he stated.
“It was a surprise. We’d already spoken with Manolo (Gaspar), together with José María (judicial administrator). For us absolutely nothing has changed, we continue on with the same responsibility. It’s an honour for myself and the coaching team to be part of this Club where, as a player, personally and professionally, you continue to grow”.
Update
“Everyone is available except Adrián and Cristo, who are recovering. With those of us here we have no excuses, we have reserve team players, and we’re going to do our best to compete to the max during the last stretch. Adrían is an important absence, but another player will take his place who I’m sure will be equally as good, as these guys are showing every day. They’re bursting with enthusiasm and extremely keen, but also have their feet on the ground. In this category, accumulating three consecutive victories is incredibly tough, and we’re going to be facing a rival who is the only team to achieve two positive runs of four games on the bounce. We have to ask ourselves why we win and when we don’t. Then when we do, we have to readjust certain things in order to improve”.
'Planning'
“We’re leaving tomorrow, we’ll train there (on Thursday afternoon) and on Friday do a little activation training. Now we have a group lunch, which reinforces the camaraderie within the team during such a demanding time. Today I had to stop the session as the physical level the guys were giving is not consistent with training two days before a match. The players are pumped up and raring to go”.
UD Las Palmas
“They are a team who focus on lengthy possession and an inside gameplay to generate spaces outside. Our idea is to go there and win. We’ve achieved three games in a row and we’re going for another victory thanks to our solid defence. We’ll also try to ensure they have the ball where they can’t hurt us. If we allow them some breathing room, the match could turn crazy, which is something we don’t want to happen”.
