Analysis of Castellón
“They surprised everyone last season and have maintained the same approach. They are a bold, brave team that emphasises individual talent. Offensively, they’re a real storm, always looking to create danger in the opponent’s half. They’re the most physical team in the league and are having an excellent season. Last year, when we debuted there in the 1RFEF, the details played a crucial role. Managing emotions is fundamental, as in mere fractions of a second, the game can shift from attack to defence and vice versa. We must be prepared for a match where the opponent sets a very high tempo, similar to what we experienced against Santander, although with different characteristics.”
Reunion with Gonzalo
“His development has been spectacular. He’s a prime example of a player who came through our academy, moved on to Logroñés, and has successfully adapted to the level of Castellón and their style of play. I think he’s a goalkeeper who, along with Alfonso, ranks among the best I’ve had between the posts, especially in terms of speed and reflexes. He’s outstanding with his feet, very quick, and also very daring, qualities that align perfectly with what Castellón looks for in their advanced defensive line. I’m really happy for him, he’s a true example of hard work and dedication.”
Preparations for #CastellónMálaga
“It’s true that we’re coming off an undesirable result, regardless of how it happened, which I believe was quite uneven. However, we’re in a good position to work calmly, with all the resources we need at our disposal. Recovery is also a fundamental aspect, especially in this new category we’re in, which demands significant effort and high intensity, something we didn’t see as much last season. I’m very happy with the players' efforts and the progress we’re showing.”
Analysis of #LevanteMálaga
“In the line-up against Eibar, you could see there was a change, and we managed to secure the win. Often, it’s necessary to adjust the level of demands, as we did against Racing de Santander. The key is for all players to be at their best, it’s tough for everyone to get playing time since we’re a squad of 28. I believe that’s our hallmark, our way of managing things.
We need to take a deeper look, beyond the result, focusing particularly on the details in both penalty areas. We’re a team that doesn’t sit back, we always push forward, and that can sometimes lead to situations like the one we experienced the other day.”
Return of Luismi
“Luismi is a standout player because of the stability and calmness he brings. With him, the attacking players can move forward much more freely. We’re very happy to have him back.”
Castalia, where we debuted in Primera RFEF
“That first match in the Primera RFEF journey, where everything was new, and we didn’t exactly know what to expect. We had an idea, a completely new team, and many players from The Academy. It was an important first step. I think the team competed well, even though we suffered a defeat, and from that moment, we realised it was going to be a tough road, one that required hard work, unity, and determination. Looking back is key, remembering the recent past allows us to appreciate the present. After the setback we experienced two seasons ago, I believe we’re now at a point where, through hard work, unity, and enjoying the journey, we can take two steps forward.”
