Press conference
Pellicer: “I'm not satisfied, but the result is fair”

The coach held a press conference after the Malaguista team's draw at El Palmar (0-0). “It was a very even, hard-fought match with moments for each team. We must continue insisting, knowing that we have to continue improving,” he said.

Very even match

“It was what we expected, a very even and hard-fought match with moments for each team. Each one with their idea. A very even match. In the first half, we didn’t attack the spaces or have enough presence in the area. We also lacked consistency. There were opportunities for both teams. Credit to the rival, who are having a great season. It's difficult here. Happy with the team's work and keeping a clean sheet. We must continue insisting, knowing that we have to continue improving.”

Options for both teams

“It was uncomfortable for both of us. There were times when we neutralised each other, we know one another very well. We sought to have numerical superiority in several areas, but we didn’t succeed. When we had two or three passes we planted ourselves in the rival half, but lacked depth. We wanted to cause mistakes, so that they tried to play with the keeper, and we had several recoveries. In several of our more disorganised moments, a throw-in and transitions caused us problems. There was discomfort between the two teams. However, there are positive aspects. We have to keep our feet on the ground as it's very difficult to get three points in this division.”

Two great defensive teams in the category

“We are two good teams in that aspect (defence), each with their own idea. We are the team with the fewest goals conceded in the group and they are coming off a superb streak, with stats to be at the top. Sanluqueño wanted to win, but so did we… These points have to be made good by winning the next games. I want all the players to be active, there’ll certainly be changes in the next match.”

About the foul on Avilés

“We have to be above the rival, which today we weren’t. We were the same as them, and the referee. It’s clear that the action was a textbook penalty.”

Improve for the decisive stretch

“Now remains the decisive part of the season. We have to realise that against rivals in this dynamic we must be precise and alert. We tried, but this is very complicated. The defeat in Melilla served us to learn, and today, with a fair result, it must also help us to learn. Let's focus on Sunday, let the same people come to support us as they did against Ibiza, and let's go for the three points.”
