Pellicer: “I’m very happy with the group”

The Malaguista coach spoke after the draw against Granada. “The fans are, as always, our driving force,” he said.

Assessing the point

“After the match against Córdoba, I said that the rival was closer to victory, but today it would have been unfair to lose. Alfonso’s save on the penalty allowed us to secure a valuable point. In the first half, we showed a great level against a team that has a lot of firepower, and we managed to contain them effectively. In the second half, with Granada boosted by their fans, we conceded a goal, but the team kept pushing. Our motto is ‘never stop fighting.’ It was a spectacular match, and we should be proud of both our effort and the team’s performance.”

Great work of the whole team

“What’s most important is to highlight the collective effort. There will always be standout actions, like Cordero’s goal or Alfonso’s save. But I want to stress the entire team. We are a solid group with depth, and that was reflected on the pitch. I’m very satisfied with the performance of the full-backs and the team as a whole.”

Fans’ support

“The fans are, as always, our driving force. We felt it last year, and we feel it again today. That unity between the team, staff, media, and fans is something we haven’t seen in a long time.”

Managing the euphoria

“It’s the details that make the difference; missing a penalty or scoring at key moments changes the match entirely. The team never stops fighting, and with humility, we must now focus on the next match against Elche at La Rosaleda.”

The starting-11

“I wanted to maintain continuity because we played very good football in the last match. I had some doubts about a couple of profiles, which is always the case. We have 25 players, plus three from the reserve team, and they are all constantly competing for their place. They need to wait for their opportunity and keep working to earn their role in the team.”
