Pellicer: “The performance is what speaks, and I leave very happy”
The Málaga CF coach held a press conference after the #DéporMálaga match. “The key is for everyone to fit into that mechanism and give our best version,” he stated.
Analysis of the 0-0 draw “There were moments for both teams. In this category, effectiveness is crucial; they were good from area to area, and we, like them, lacked the efficiency to finish our actions. New players came in, and as coaches, we look at the immediate, but I focus on our goal, which is 50 points, and for that, we need to involve all the players.”
Positive rotations “I thought it went well (referring to the changes in the lineup). There will surely be more changes in Cádiz. I have to consider what’s coming and our objective. The key is for everyone to fit into that mechanism and give our best version. In the end, performance is what speaks, and I leave very happy with the players who hadn’t been participating.”
Similarities between both teams “We defended well in the situations we had. There are good goalkeepers, but we also lacked that timing to finish better, that precision in speed. The defenders were also very good, which affected those obstructed shots. We are climbing the mountain; both teams have seen the summit while being in the Champions League, but we were in the cellar last year. Hopefully, very soon we can be where the fans and clubs deserve to be.”
Events leading up to the match “We condemn and reject violence. In the lead-up, I said it was a beautiful match with two amazing fan bases that have been through a lot. What happened does not reflect the actions of a few. Last year, we had trips with 5,000 people, and the Málaga fans represent loyalty, purity, and respect. This needs to end now. We come to enjoy, and on both sides, this cannot happen again. There are people, who are not us, the coaches, who need to resolve this.”
