Málaga Club de Fútbol’s sports department, headed up by Manolo Gaspar, takes another step forward in the consolidation of MCF with the first team’s coaching team.
Sergio Pellicer extends his contract with the entity for another year and will remain at the helm of the team. Confidence is further strengthened with the coach, who after ‘moving up’ from Atlético Malagueño to Málaga CF as interim coach, was ratified in his position by Gaspar until the end of the 19/20 season on 25th February.
Coaching team
Young, Malagueño and Malaguista, this is the Blue and White coaching team. The assistant coach is Manolo Sánchez. Despite just being nearly 28, he has already had an important career within the Club in various teams from The Academy and as Pellicer’s right-hand man.
In terms of the physical, the team has the experience of Enrique Ruiz and the vigour of Manu Gestoso, and ‘Pelli’’s head trainer is Julio Rodríguez. Like Manolo, and following a brief spell in Panama with Dely Valdés, Julio has been progressing in the youth ranks until reaching the first team.
In addition, Dani Lima will continue specific goalkeeping training. One year younger than his teammate Manolo, 27, he has maximum enthusiasm and is determined to make the team’s goalkeepers better every day.
In a recent training session at La Rosaleda, Sergio Pellicer endorsed a phrase directed at his players that also summarises the feeling of belonging, between themselves and towards the Club, of a perfectly-matched coaching team. We Are All One.
