Pellegrini: “We were so close to winning, but we didn’t know how to convert the chances”
Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team manager, Manuel Pellegrini, spoke to the media in the Nuevo Los Cármenes press room after the Granada-Málaga match (2-1).
Manuel Pellegrini's statements:
“Unfortunately, we let three important points escape us. We had clear goal chances, and Granada made few approaches yet they still managed two goals. In general we had a good match, correct in play, good handling and opportunities, but without having converted those chances. We did a lot more than they did to win, but whoever converts chances takes the points. “
“It was a good game of football in general. We’re alright with what we did, even though we’re bothered by not having the luck that Granada did.”
“Perhaps we were lacking a little bit of calm, but the problem was not having known how to take advantage of the numerous goal chances.”
“Without taking anything away from Granada, we were closer to winning the three points, but you get them by scoring goals and they where the ones who did that.”
“The fans are always with us and we really appreciate that. We regret the result, but we’re still confident that we’ll achieve the objectives by the end of the season.”
