Pellegrini: “We didn’t take advantage of the opportunities and we lost an important match”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team manager, Manuel Pellegrini, spoke to the media in El Molinón’s press room after the match between Sporting de Gijón and Málaga (2-1).

Pellegrini’s statements:

“They got a goal in the extra time and we couldn’t do anything about it. Matches last more than 90 minutes and that’s where they took it.”

“The first half was very even. Sporting opened it up with the goal, but in the second half we were, without doubt, the superior side, although we didn’t take advantage of the opportunities and we lost an important match.”

“We put on a good front again, but the feeling is that we’re not securing points and getting results that don’t allow us to move up.”
