Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first squad have today, Monday 16th January, undergone another training session at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.
The training has been characterised by a lighter session for those players who participated in the Gijón match. They jogged out on the pitch before continuing their recovery workouts in the facility’s gym.
In terms of absences, Rubén and Helder remain out as they forge ahead with their treatments. Also, Joaquín was jogging on the pitch with Enrique Ruiz. For his part Julio Baptista continues with his recovery process at the Marbella clinic where he was operated on. In addition to them, Duda and Apoño are being treated for a left calf problem and a lower back problem respectively, whilst Edinho has sprained his adductor in his left leg. Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Demichelis – who has suffered a slight knock to the right knee – have only trained in the Ciudad de Málaga gym. Juanmi was not there either as he’s currently training with Spain’s Under 19s.
The rest of the squad had a more intense session with the usual physical exercises and rounds, with a mini match on a reduced pitch rounding off the training.
Tomorrow, the team have a day off, returning to training on Wednesday 18th January, when they’ll be exclusively focusing on the league match against Barcelona that take place at La Rosaleda on Sunday 22nd January at 6 p.m.
