Málaga CF coach, Manuel Pellegrini, held a press conference at the San Siro, following the Champions League encounter between AC Milan and Málaga CF.
Statements by Pellegrini
“I agree that we played very good football in the first half, we took control of the ball and scored a great goal. We regret that we conceded a goal in the second half, but in the final minutes we defended the result which means we’ve qualified through to the next round two matches before the end of the group stage.”
“This is a major achievement for us, and what we’ve been working towards since the start of the competition. To be able to qualify to the next round following a match against Milan at their home ground, two games before the end of the group stage, is a very significant achievement!”
“We’ll obviously continue to perform as well as we can, but it’s such a relief to know that we’ve already qualified, especially with such a small squad. First place isn’t yet determined, so we’re fighting for that now.”
“I think Milan have every chance of getting through. If they can get a good result in Belgium they could qualify here at home, and they are favourites as the second team to qualify from the group.”
