Pellegrini: “It was a very important home match in which to progress”

Manuel Pellegrini, the Málaga Manager, spoke to the media in the La Rosaleda press room after the Málaga-Villarreal match.

Pellegrini’s statements:

(Match assessment). “It was an important victory against a very good team.  We had a great first half and with one player less we had a good, orderly defence.  I don’t think the score has been a result of arbitration, I don’t think it was one of the determining factors.  My voice is hoarse from too much shouting? No, I’ve had a cold this week, but winning makes it easier.  It’s not something I have noticed, the team dedicates itself to trying to recover the ball, I don’t think that’s been an important factor.”

(Cazorla).  “Santi reflected what the team did.  With one man less he made an important contribution.  For him and me it was a special game but he played the same football as always.  They were three very important points, and we left Villareal on nine, we’re now three points from Levante, and it was an important match in which to progress at home.”

(Isco).  “Isco has improved so much, personally i gave him few minutes, he had little experience, but little by little he’s becoming more complete and we’re all very happy.”

(Fans).  "The expecting fans, the Málaga fans have supported us winning, losing, on Mondays, on Saturdays, they’re very loyal and luckily this season we’ve satisfied them and that union between fans and the team is very important.”
