Pedro Morales: “It’s important we keep the three points at home on Friday”
Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Pedro Morales held a press conference this afternoon following the morning training session, to analyse the team and Friday’s League match against Club Atlético Osasuna.
Firstly, Morales talks about the Blue and Whites’ next rival: “Every team we come up against plays good football, so we need to put on a strong, intense performance, and keep the pressure on. The League is very close at the moment, so we need to focus on being the superior team at La Rosaleda and keep the three points at home on Friday.”
The ‘Malaguista’ midfielder refers to the draw at the Anoeta: “We’re taking everything step by step, and although we go out there determined to win every game, unfortunately this isn’t always reflected on the score board. The team is focused on reaching European positions this year, so we’re concentrating on improving the smaller details and playing strong home games.”
Morales isn’t concerned about his replacement in last Friday’s line-up: “These things happen, it’s the coach’s decision who makes the team, and he knows what’s best for each game. Thankfully I’ve recovered from injury so I hope I’ll be able to support the team on Friday, do the best I can and then focus on a more physical workout in training next week.”
The Chilean-born player discusses how the team has adapted to German-born coach, Bernd Schuster’s style: “The pairing of the new coach and the team has been excellent. Every player knows the correct style of play we need to focus on, we’re improving every day and with every match. I think we’re working well with the physical trainer too, which is reflected every week in League games.”
