Pawlowski: “The match against Sevilla isn’t going to be easy”
Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Polish-born striker, Bartlomiej Pawlowski, held a press conference this morning, analysing the team, the next League game and his debut against Fútbol Club Barcelona last Sunday at La Rosaleda.
Pawlowski made his official debut with the Blue and Whites last Sunday: “Playing against FC Barcelona was an incredible experience. Since I was a child I’ve always dreamed of playing a major team like Barça. They’re one of the best teams in the world with such amazing players. I tried my best to impose my style of play and show my skills on the pitch, but it wasn’t easy.”
The ‘Malaguista’ striker refers to the problems surrounding his transfer clearance: “Last week was really hard for me. I really wanted to play against Valencia, but I wasn’t able to. However following that, I was part of the team line-up against Barcelona and I was called up to play for my country. Everything happened so quickly, but I’m very confident in my abilities as a player.”
Pawlowski analyses the next League rival, Sevilla FC: “I don’t think this match will be any easier than against Barcelona or Valencia. Sevilla are a great side and play excellent football. They’re a top-level team.”
With regards to adapting to living in the city, Pawlowski comments: “Málaga is a beautiful city and I love going to the beach in my spare time. I’m in constant contact with my friends and family back home, as it’s always hard moving to new places. The heat here is the same as Poland, but the air quality sometimes affects my breathing.”
Finally, the Blue and Whites’ striker talks about his Polish teammates who play for Borussia Dortmund, in particular Blaszczykowski: “He’s a great footballer, I think he’s one of the best in the world playing in his position. I’d love to be like him, but I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of me first.”
