Pau: “The line of work we’re following is the right one”

The Malaguista defender held a press conference following morning training: “It was difficult to expect I’d have this continuity, I’m grateful to the coach”.

Coach’s confidence

“Perhaps it was difficult to expect I’d have this continuity from the outset, I’m grateful to the coach for his confidence in me. I found myself in this situation when there were only a few matches left until the start of the league, and luckily, I was able to have this level of continuity later on. Everything went well for the team and we hope to continue along this line”.

Good connection with Luis Hernández

“I practically hadn’t played with Luis until the first League match, just one friendly in Granada, and little by little I gained confidence together with him, we’re getting to know each other more and I’m learning how he is on the pitch. He’s bringing a lot of experience to the entire defence, the whole team, he’s a man who has played a lot of First Division games and in this category too. I’m learning working alongside him and getting better every day”.

Calm, despite the defeat against Las Palmas

“The match we played in Gran Canaria was an even match, it could easily have ended with a 0-0 or 0-1 result. In the end it was 1-0 and well, we’re aware of the work we’ve been doing throughout the start of the season, things are going well as the line of work we’re following is the right one for the team”.

Rayo Majadahonda, a great rival

“Rayo Majadahonda is a team that likes to dominate the ball for as long as possible during play. They have sufficient possession, but in the end the most important thing is the arrivals to the area. We’ve been working this week on their system, we have clear ideas of how to do them some damage and I believe we can play a great match”.
