Recovery from injury
Current stage
“I’m at a stage where, in a few weeks, I’ll probably be running on the pitch. The next step is to start running, build muscle, and balance both legs.”
Feelings
“Positive. It’s a very long and slow process, and I try to find happiness in the day-to-day. I’m not in a hurry, my priority is to feel good and come back in the best possible condition.”
Day to day
“I spend a lot of time on the treatment table with the physiotherapists, trying to get everything in place and right. I’m also focusing on building a lot of strength in my leg to start doing more demanding work, like running or touching the ball.”
Medical team
“We have an amazing team, we’re a very lucky club to have the medical service we do, and I truly mean that. I care for them a lot, they’re a big part of my recovery, and the day I return I’ll be very grateful to them.”
Timelines
“I want to be ready for next year, to start pre-season with the team. There are still five or six months until then, and I prefer to focus on progressing, getting stronger, and being happy, as I am now.”
Renewal and current situation
Grateful
“It’s a dream to be here and wear this jersey. When I arrived, I didn’t expect it would be so special to play here and live in this city. I feel very fortunate, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity I have. What better than to renew until 2028. Hopefully, these will be two great years, and who knows, maybe many more.”
Trust
“Renewing me while I’m injured? That says a lot about the club. I really value the trust they have in me. I want to repay it with strong performances and good seasons. This club has to end up back in the First Division, we all want it, and I’m very grateful to the club for the opportunity to be here for two more years.”
Belonging
“From day one, they welcomed me as one of their own, the people, the club, my teammates, everyone. I’m very happy and I want to repay that trust on the field.”
Team’s current situation
“Málaga are playing better than ever. We’ve already had some good games, but the victories weren’t coming as they are now. It’s the result of all the hard work, including last year, and hopefully the team continues like this. The matches are very good, the team understands what the coach wants, everyone is fully committed, and that’s the key to achieving this year’s objectives. Being united, all together, and we’re very happy.”
Message to the fans
“We’re at a moment to enjoy. It’s the first match of 2026, the last of the first half of the season, and after winning at El Molinón, this weekend at La Rosaleda has to be a celebration. The team should go out and dominate the pitch, we should all enjoy it, and take home a victory to start the year, at home, in the best possible way. That’s what we all want.”
Return
“It’s still early, but I’m already really eager to come back. I try not to think about it too much, to stay a bit detached from my thoughts, but I see the team winning, enjoying themselves, and I’m envious. In a few months I’ll be back here, and I’m sure everything will go well.”
