Pablo: “Málaga is my second home”

Málaga Club de Fútbol officially presented at midday today in La Rosaleda’s press room the renewal agreement that sees Pablo Fornals continue until the 2018/19 season.

The young Castellón-born attacking midfielder was escorted to his meeting with the press by consultant advisers Abdullah Ben Barek and Antonio Benítez, as well as by the sporting director, Francesc Arnau.

“Today is his day, even though his renewal really began when he arrived in Málaga from Castellón aged 16. You’ve got of growing to do, Pablo, but don’t stop because you’re going to go a long way. You’ve got honesty, sacrifice, and knowledge of how to be on and off the pitch, which is essential in order to get to where you’re going. He’s like a mirror for the guys in the youth teams. A player in progress, technically he’s exceptional,” affirmed Arnau.

Renewal

“I consider Málaga my second home. It was here that I became who I am as a player and as a person. My debut was a precious moment. This season is working out beautifully, full of new things. (Gracia) It was he who gave me the opportunity to go in the preseason and get some minutes in the First Division. I’m very grateful to him for what’s now happening for me. Thank God we’re now here, renewing, and I’m very happy. I’m working my way up and I’m intending to play and give it my all.”

Personal

“I’m not the most physical of players, and I have to adapt to whatever the boss wants. I’m looking forward to playing a lot and doing whatever is asked of me. Football’s what I love the most. (Spain) I’ve never had the opportunity to go with the national squad but every player wants to play for his country. If I get the chance, I will try and do the best I can.”

Real Sociedad-Málaga

“I feel more comfortable play on the inside, but also on the left wing, the boss gives me lots of freedom. I just like playing and that’s that. (Anoeta) The boss will decide who plays first and who’s in back-up. It’s a tough game, we’re all close on the table and it’ll be very demanding. The Real players occupy the space well and we’re going to have to be on our guard.”

Camacho, someone of note

“Camacho is showman on and off the pitch. He shows this everyday, he’s a spectacular midfielder. I remember my first year here, being a ball boy for Kameni and Willy Caballero, and now I watch the kids when I’m warming up with a smile. I have been able to do it, as other colleagues have, and so they must never stop as it’s all possible.”
