Press conference

“Our objective is Cádiz, we’re forgetting about the rest”

Malaguista coach, Juan Ramón López Muñiz held a press conference the day before the match against the Yellows: “We need to face this match with enthusiasm and with an eye on victory”.

Even match

“It’s like every weekend, we’re facing a team that’s in the middle of a good streak, but above all, we’ll again see a very even match. A match in which both sides are optimistic and eager to score the points. We’ll witness a game like we saw the other day in Mallorca, as is seen every weekend in this category. There are some great teams in the Second Division. It’s a guarantee that there are good matches every week, particularly in regard to the excitement surrounding the result”.

Cádiz CF, rival on a good run

“When you obtain this number of victories it acts as a big morale boost. Everything goes well during these times. Everything that should go out goes in, what you believe has no danger carries it, all that dynamic changes you. We know that we need to face this match with enthusiasm and with an eye on victory. In order to do that we have to play a good game. We are aware of how equal the match will be. The rival has been fighting for a number of seasons to get into the group of teams that move up to the First Division. They have this level of consistency for a reason. We know the situation, it’s going to be a long, hard match, as it is every weekend. We’ll need to work hard and stay patient to overcome this opponent”.

Return to the level

“What we need to do is to perform at our best level. I believe the team is at a good level. The other day we won a very difficult match; and against Granada the team responded well and competed very well throughout. However, in regard to gameplay, we shouldn’t be upset or worried, but satisfied with the job done. It’s important that we repeat this situation to have options to win, not just against this team, but against any rival in the category. We have to be at our best level. Our objective now is to defeat Cádiz, we’re forgetting about what has happened and what’s to come”.

Worrying situation surrounding CF Reus

“The first thing to say is that it’s a pity that these situations occur in a competition like the Second Division. It seemed as though this was all forgotten and the issues surrounding the payment defaults had been rectified. However, for whatever reason it’s happened again, which is a shame. I don’t think the category deserves this news, or for the media to reference what’s happening there. Several years ago, the competition improved a great deal, the facilities, the players, the teams, clubs, grounds, level of support and television coverage. It’s a pity that this happens, hopefully this step backwards will be a small one and affects Reus, the professionals and employees, as well as other teams, as little as possible. I believe everyone has to try to work so that a solution is found, and above all, that it never happens again. It’s very unpleasant for the professionals to be there in the middle of that situation, as well as for the other teams to have that uncertainty of what could happen if they don’t continue and how these problems would be solved. The Second Division doesn’t deserve this situation”.
