The II Nena Paine Awards took place on Monday 8th, in which the Málaga CF Foundation was recognised. Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti’, from the Foundation’s Social Department, collected the award.
The Nena Paine Association wanted to acknowledge the work of businesses, institutions and individuals who have collaborated over the past year, and amongst them, the Málaga CF Foundation received the ‘Collective Friend 2015’ award. “Málaga CF and its Foundation are proud of the work carried out by Nena Paine. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with them, and we were able to see their work during Ignacio Camacho and Raúl Albentosa’s last visit here,” says Basti on receiving the award
Nena Paine, essential work with young people
The Nena Paine Association founded a much-needed project to work with children or young people at risk of social or educational exclusion. The main objective is to fight against social and educational exclusion which many children suffer from. In order to do this, the Association works every day to motivate the children to become stronger and more capable to move forward in their studies. They believe in them, and most important, the children know it. The Nena Paine Association always works to these slogans: ‘one is who they dream to be’, education is the key to freedom; education doesn’t change the world, it changes people who will change the world; the Association helps the children try to put them into practice to make them understand that they are the future, and every one of them can achieve their goals. The Association works along three lines: education - controlling their homework, helping them to prepare for exams and speaking to teachers to enable closer monitoring; social – undertaking cultural activities, attending basketball games and organising festivals; and music – calling for change, preparing songs that ‘denounce’ the situation in today’s society, and also, inviting the support of well-known people to come and visit the children to make them feel important.
