Murillo: “In the second half we lacked decisiveness”

The Málaga CF defender held a press conference after the defeat at El Prado. “It’s a source of pride that wherever we go, they’re always there with us,” he said in gratitude to the fans

Tough defeat

“The assessment is negative. In the first half we played a good game. In the second we didn’t start badly, but once we conceded, we fell apart. With the second goal we were unlucky, and then we ran out of time. The first goal was a tough blow, and then they kept pressing high. The second goal came and finished us off completely. I don’t think we ever stopped fighting in the match at any moment.”

Two different halves

“We kept the same idea in the second half, but they made adjustments and made it harder for us to play out from the back. After we conceded, we lost our grip on the match a bit.”

Disappointed with the defeat

“The first goal was a good move from them. We didn’t manage a proper clearance, and they finished well. On the second goal, I clear the ball, it hits Pablo Arriaza on the chest, and it leaves him exposed to their player. We’re not happy after the match, but we need to focus on Monday already.”

Lack of decisiveness

“We had a couple of good chances in the first half, but in the second half we lacked decisiveness.”

Endless thanks to the fans

“Many thanks to the travelling fans. It’s a source of pride that wherever we go, they’re always with us. We didn’t give up on the Copa, we gave everything, but the result was negative.”
