Muñiz: “The work the team did deserved a little more”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference following the match against UD Las Palmas: “I’m satisfied with the work carried out, but a little sad about the result”.

Even match

“I believe the team worked well. It was a very close match with occasions for both sides. The game could have ended with any result. He who scores the goal has accomplished a great achievement, as happens in the majority of games. They had the fortune of taking the lead on the scoreboard. The match then became complicated as there were only a few minutes remaining. Even so, the team reacted, generated opportunities and played in the attacking half. I’m satisfied with the work carried out, but a little sad because the work the team did deserved a little more. That’s the category. Sometimes this happens to you and other times it’s the opposite. I believe the team’s line is still good and positive. The guys work hard and do a lot of things well. In that aspect I’m satisfied. The points are the most important thing and we didn’t score any here. That’s why I’m upset. The players deserved a bigger reward”.

Line to follow

“The game was in a situation where it seemed the result could have deviated a little due to a strategic play, a foul, a corner, a set piece action or the individuality of any one player. I’m a little sad about that. I think we could have claimed a point from here, but we didn’t. We were up against a good team and knew it would be tough. Málaga were immersed in the game throughout. There are 36 matches remaining and we must follow the same path. Apart from not earning the three points, we saw many positives”.
