Muñiz: “Tenerife will make us raise our alarm”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference ahead of #MálagaTenerife: “We need to affront this match at more than 100%, as they are going to demand it from us”.

Málaga CF – CD Tenerife

“When you come from a winning streak motivation is always high in such a positive situation. What we are trying to do now is prepare ourselves both mentally and physically to face the next game. We know we’re going to be up against a difficult rival, with a good team and a strong attack. They are an opponent to keep in mind throughout the season. We need to be aware of the difficulty of the match and the work we’ll need to do in order to try and keep the three points at La Rosaleda”.

CD Tenerife

“It was many years ago… The past is in the past. They gave us great joy back then but now we need to focus on the upcoming game. Tenerife have remained in the top part of the table for many years, trying to find a place in that privileged group to be able to aspire to the First Division. They have significant backing from their fans and are one of the standout teams of the category. Whenever you talk about Tenerife, they are a team that has been playing good football for a number of years, with a good standing, enjoy good times during the season and, above all, have some very good players. This is what needs to raise our alarm to affront this match at more than 100%, as they are going to demand it from us and the match will require it. It’s important that we are aware of the difficulty we’ll face to get up to speed from the outset”.

Fans

“When you talk about the fans, the first thing to do is thank them for their support, both home and away. The other day, on a Monday at 21:00, we had a significant number of fans there who made an extra effort to support their team. We appreciate it so much. For us it’s a huge satisfaction that the fans feel proud of the team’s work. It’s fundamental that everyone knows the difficulty we’ll be facing and the effort we’ll have to make. The idea is to all stick together to make us stronger. We have the obligation to ensure that this union will be maintained from here to the end of the season, doing our bit, giving our all on the field of play. In football sometimes you play well, sometimes you play poorly, but you must never lack effort, so the fans can see their team determined to win the three points at stake”.
