Muñiz: "I don’t give importance to being leaders"

Málaga CF manager, Juan Ramón López Muñiz, appeared before the media in a pre-match press conference against Nàstic: “They do not come like little lambs, they come to win. We have to go out there likewise.”

# MálagaNàstic

“It's a complicated match against Nástic. I would take out the part about the classification, because it doesn’t matter where you are on the table as to how you play. We have to be smart and not think about that, since it would take away options to be able to win. We have to work at the best level we have and the best we can, because it’s a rival that will put the squeeze on us and will make it difficult. They’re going to do their thing and they do not come as little lambs, they come to win. We have to go out there likewise.”

La Rosaleda pitch

"It's perfect. When you have a situation, it's no good thinking about what could’ve been better or worse. It's pretty good actually considering the time it’s been down after it all being taken up. There’ll be no problem to play on it, nor for the ball to circulate well. Normally.”

A team

“We’re happy and satisfied. All players work at a very good level. When you see the training sessions, including today’s, you end up very satisfied. We’re on the road that we spoke about at the beginning; we’re a team. On the pitch you’ll see a team who plays. A team that works at the same level, without seeing who is in the line-up and who is not. That, for the coach, is a very positive feeling that the players transmit throughout the week and, above all, when you see them play, you see that the level remains very high.”

Leadership

“Regarding losing the leadership or not, I do not give it much more importance, whether we have it or not. At the moment, all the teams are currently positioning ourselves. For now, Malaga is in the top end of the table. Thinking about being leaders every day is impossible. The leadership will be moving almost every week because there’s a lot of equality. It seems that it’s going to stay that way and we have to continue on the path that we’re on. Play without thinking about the table’s positions, without thinking about the rival, just play and do our job as best as possible. Then, the classification will go a little higher or lower, depending on the level and the results. I think all these games reinforce the idea we had at the beginning. We have started a very long and hard journey, and we have to live each game as if it were the last. The team shows that it is competing very well and at a very good level. We must continue like this as long as we can and, if possible, from here to the end, perfect. The road is the right one, we’ve got to maintain that consistency as long as possible.”
