Munir: “Thank you to the fans, we’re indebted to you”

The Málaga CF goalkeeper spoke to the media in the mixed zone after the defeat against Extremadura UD. “The team competed well, but we weren’t lucky in certain situations of play”.

Analysis of the defeat

“We started off well in the first half, we had the match pretty much under control and were creating opportunities. Then things moved downwards, they had a remote chance and after two or three errors in a row they scored a good goal. From then on, we fought, we tried, we had very clear opportunities, but we continue to resist the victories away from home”.

Learning in adversity

“It’s not the same face we’re showing at home, but I’m left with the image the team is showing. Away from home we’ve not been able to control the times during the match, we need to improve in that aspect and remain concentrated for the 90 minutes. The team is learning, will keep on learning and now at home we must clinch three important points”.

Local goal

“They had the plus of the home crowd, but the team competed very well. We weren’t lucky in certain situations of play, they are details we need to control in away games. Their goal? It started off with the ball behind them, then something of a fluke that the ball was there for the taking and they got a good goal”.

Malaguista fans

“We’re very sorry for this defeat as our fans came to support us for the 90 minutes. Thank you, we’re indebted to you and we’re looking forward to playing in front of our home crowd again. Our fans give us strength, we want to win the three points for them as they deserve it”.
