The central African with French nationality is the first defence reinforcement for the 2016/17 campaign. His five years with Olympique de Lyon, where he took part in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, are a sufficient guarantee for this international ‘giant’ of his national squad.

A physical and powerful defender who stands at 1’88m tall and who weighs 80 kilos, has on many key occasions been instrumental on the wing. Two teams have defined this professional development in France: En Avant Guincamp and Olympique de Lyon. He was at Guincamp for six years and played in the Coupe de France in the 2008/09 season, something he repeated for Lyon in the 2011/12 campaign. In addition, he played in the French Super Cup in 2012/13 and participated in the UEFA Champions League in 2011/12 and 2015/16 and in the UEFA Europa League in 2012/12, 13/14 and 14/15.

He has played more than 60 times for Burkina Faso over nine years. His greatest moment at an international level was in the Africa Cup that was held in South Africa in 2013. Koné participated in six matches of the competition, being key in the axis of a wing that just about managed three goals in the whole tournament.
