A weekend marked by adverse results for the two main teams in the Malaguista youth ranks. Both Malagueño and Juvenil ‘A’ suffered home defeats against Melilla and Calavera, respectively.
Atlético Malagueño
The reserve team lost to one of the top teams in the category, UD Melilla. Manolo Sanlúcar’s boys had the best chances of the game and only lacked a bit of luck in the final metres which prevented them from achieving something positive this weekend. The rival goal, the work of Óscar, arrived in what was practically the last dangerous approach by Melilla. Rival goalkeeper, Dani Barrio and the defence maintained a clean sheet. The next opportunity to score points is away to Sevilla Atlético.
Juvenil División de Honor
Francis Bravo’s team lost 1-2, at the Ciudad Deportiva José Burgos Quintana, against Calavera CF. The visitors took the lead at the start of the second half, but winger Benítez, who scored his fourth goal of the season, equalised in 82’. A goal from Lucas in ’93 prevented the boys from scoring at least a point in Coín.
