For another year, the 15 teams that make up the MCF Academy gathered together for lunch at ‘El Túnel’. In total, 380 boys and girls made up the more than 400 guests present at the Christmas lunch, reinforcing the family spirit that reigns throughout the Málaga CF youth ranks.

Sitting at the presidential table were the three Club advisers, Francisco Martín Aguilar, Abdullah Ben Barek and Antonio Benítez; director of the MCF Academy, Rafa Gil; his deputy and head of 11-a-side scouting, Sergio Paulo Barbosa Valente, ‘Duda’; Málaga CF Femenino coach, Antonio Contreras; and manager of the youth teams, José Luis Ruiz.

As references within The Academy, also present at the Christmas lunch were first team regulars from the reserve team, Iván Rodríguez, Jack Harper, Hicham Boussefiane and Álex Mula. The latter, after dessert, dedicated a few words to all the players present, wishing them great success.

Martín Aguilar, Rafa Gil and Ben Barek also said a few words, and did so with a common message: “Merry Christmas to all, your families and all Malaguistas”. However, without doubt, the most emotional speech was from 3ª Prebenjamín player, Claudio, and from Cadete Femenino’s Ornella. “Day to day, in every training session, in every match, in every competition, we are honoured to represent the Blue and White jersey of Málaga Club de Fútbol. We wish a heartfelt Merry Christmas to you all Malaguistas and, now more than ever, te quiero Málaga!”
